Bringing Passion to Life...

    ♦♦◊♦♦◊♦♦  REVIEW  RATING  SCALE ♦♦◊♦♦◊♦♦

First let me say that I think it is important that a reviewer focus on the fiction work itself and not their opinion.  When I review books that is what I promise I will do.  Every book I read is judged on it's quality of work, regardless of the genre or my personal opinion of the subject matter.  All that matters is the work itself.  Nothing more.  So, with that being said here is my rating scale:

5 Stars ~ An Extremely well written story.  Giving to the depths of both the characters and the story itself.  Leaving you sad when it is over, because you could keep reading on.

4 Stars ~ A Well written story.  This book kept me interested throughout and never made me want to skim through, much less put it down.

3 Stars ~ A Good story.  While this was a good story, it did not keep me interested the whole time.  There were parts that drug on and left me bored with where the story was going.

2 Stars ~ An Okay story.  While this story had a decent plot it was poorly executed thus making it hard to read.

1 Star ~ A story.  This story was written and published but it did not please the reviewer at all.  It was poorly written and was very hard to finish.

BOOKS  THAT  I'VE  REVIEWED:

Haunted Destiny By Kelly Abell

Haunted Destiny is a young adult paranormal romance written by Kelly Abell.  While I have never read Kelly’s work previously I was familiar with her name in regards to her suspense, Sealed In Lies.  After reading Haunted Destiny I was quite surprised to find that she had never written in this genre before.

After losing her parents to a car accident, Destiny goes to live with her Grandmother.  She runs into many of the obstacles that teenagers would today, but Destiny has more to contend with that just that.  She has special gifts that her Gram offers to help her better understand.  As the book progresses more people are affected by evil and it is up to Destiny to save them from the forces that have taken over.

Haunted Destiny was an extremely well written book.  From the beginning of this book there was constantly something intriguing me and forcing me to continue turning the pages.  This is a book I not only would recommend to anyone who loves a great story, but I hope this isn’t the last paranormal we see from Kelly Abell.  It was a treat to read.

The Dark Path By Luke Romyn

The Dark Path is not a book I would have chosen if I was perusing the shelves at my local eBook store.  Finding myself drawn to the more romantic genre's of today I don't venture into other areas as much as I should.  After reading blurbs of The Dark Path I found myself intrigued, wanting to read more.  So, I gave into my curiosity and bought it.  I am incredibly thankful that I did.

The Dark Path takes you on the journey of a man, Vain who is forced into protecting young Sebastian.  Fighting against a group known as the Souls of Sordarrah he finds himself pitted against an evil unlike any he's ever known.  Vain's struggle to keep Sebastian safe and from harm will keep you on the edge of your seat and turning the page in a relentless quest to find out more.  I have to thank the author, Luke Romyn for opening my eyes to a new genre and making me thankful for giving into my curiosity.

The Eternal Kiss By Christina Kelly

The Eternal Kiss is a paranormal romance which tells the story of Alana, a girl who suffers in an unhappy existence only to be rescued by a handsome vampire.  Yes that’s right, a vampire!  And what could be better than being loved and nurtured by a gorgeous vampire?  Why two of course.  Allurius and Dresden both love Alana in their own way.  With a history filled with their own heartache and pain they must find a way to overcome obstacles of the past, present and future.  Will they be able to do it?  Is it possible for one woman to love and be loved so completely by two men that are as different as they are alike?  This story immediately pulls you in from the very first pages.  Written by first time author, Christina Rose I found this book to be well written and a delight to read.  If you like romance and you love your vampire stories then this is a definite must read!

Upon A Crazy Horse By Frank Allan Rogers

Upon ACrazy Horse was a surprise to say the least.  When I first started reading it I was aware that it was an action/adventure story, but once I began reading it I became riveted by the developing plot and characters as the author, Frank Allan Rogers, took me to the actual time and place as the events unfolded.  Bonita, a woman who was fooled by a man who is evil and cruel beyond comprehension finds herself living a life of slavery.  Struggling to survive she attempts to escape several times.  Jack, a cowboy at heart, riding the trail with a group of tourists finds he has more courage and endurance than he ever imagined as he and others do everything in their power to help the troubled woman.  The question remains who will be left standing in the end?  This book was a page turner right up until the very end.  I actually caught myself biting my nails as I read on, anxious for what would happen next.  Frank Allan Rogers has given us all a true gem in Upon A Crazy Horse.  A Definite must read.

Love Heals All Pain by Melissa Miller

Melissa Miller delivers a touching story of heartache, romance and happily ever after.  This book begins leading you in one direction but surprises you with unexpected twists of fate.  I laughed and cried as I was able to actually feel the same emotions that the characters were going through.  As the story unfolds you will find yourself surprised at the outcome.  If you are looking for a great book to curl up with and enjoy, then this is the book for you!  I would recommend this book to everyone.

The Father, The Son and the Supporting Spouses  By Michael Riles

Michael Riles gives us a treat in The Father, The Son and the Supporting Spouses. Told in the era of the baby boomer, from young adulthood to present day The Father… leads you on a journey with its main character, Joe Nichols as he is faced with the trials and tribulations of what many of us have all had to deal with. Joe’s story, although similar to what many have also gone through, keeps you riveted, as you wonder what amazing turn his life will take next. This book does not disappoint but rather gives you hope. I would recommend this to anyone who appreciates a good story.

Scent of a Vampire  By Jude Stephens

Scent Of A Vampire is an steamy paranormal romance that I couldn’t put down. While I have never taken to the paranormal genre I found myself entranced by the depth of the characters. Jude Stephens was able to make me feel the emotions that were playing out with every page that I turned. Had I not read Jude’s story I may never had found a new genre which I enjoy. It is a truly outstanding book which I would read again. However, I must warn you that if you read this book the author leaves you wanting more. I only hope there is a sequel in the works!

Marie Sterbenz has given us a wonderful historical romance.  The tone in which the story was told added to the accuracy of the time, and the mounting sensual tension that built between the hero and the heroine did not dissapoint.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance.

Once Upon A Love  By Marilyn Yarbrough

Marilyn Yarbrough gives us a touching historical romance story.  I truly enjoyed getting to know the characters and as the story continued I actually felt the emotions that the characters were going through.  The story is well written and not rushed.  It is also written with accuracy to the time which only adds to the drama that unfolds.  This is definitely a book I would reccommend for anyone who wants a good romance without being rushed through it.

Baby And All  By Paige Warren

 http://www.wildhorsepress.webs.com/

Page Warren delivers a sweet romance with all of the happily ever afters that you would look for in a good romance.  While there is some underlying turmoil surrounding the heroine's life it does not take away from the romantic tension which increases between herself and the hero.  The story leaves you feeling satisfied that even in the most horrible of situations, perhaps there is hope for hapiness.
